Which mushroom should I choose?

Lion’s mane, chaga, cordyceps. All three functional mushrooms in our granola are awesome and provide a wealth of benefits. Adaptogens have been shown to help with everything from providing essential nutrients to the brain to enhancing cognition and reducing inflammation (among many other things).

However, if you are looking for a specific benefit or effect or the management of a specific condition, some adaptogenic mushrooms may be more effective than others. So what is the best mushroom? While there is no hard and fast answer, we do have some research and information to suggest which mushrooms may be most beneficial in many situations.

For inflammations

Many adaptogenic mushrooms can helpfight inflammation. In fact, lion’s mane, chaga, and cordyceps all have anti-inflammatory properties. Cordyceps in particular appears to help prevent inflammation. A study conducted in 2020 looked at the effects oncordycepin inflammation, which is the main bioactive component extracted from Cordyceps militaris. Researchers have found that cordycepin has protective effects against inflammation in chronic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease and asthma.
